The Tudors & Stuarts

It was the end of the medieval period, or perhaps the beginning of the Early Modern era; either way the Tudor and Stuart dynasties saw more than a century of dramatic religious and political change.

Beginning with the reign of Henry VII, the Tudors eventually established the Church of England and created the nation state that we now inhabit. The Stuarts saw recigide and restoration and, as a consequence, an irreversible shift toward democracy.
